Where is BrackenXcapes?

Our family-run glamping site lies in the village of North Muskham, just a stone’s throw from the historic market town of Newark. We offer a peaceful escape from city life, located less than an hour and a quarter from London by train and within 40 minutes’ drive of Nottingham and Leeds. Our glamping field is nestled among pristine Nottinghamshire countryside just a short drive from famous Sherwood Forest and within walking distance of pubs set along the River Trent. 

Hen Weekend Glamping Accommodation 

We can cater to all hen group sizes, whether you’re planning an intimate get-together or a larger party. Invite up to 35 guests to stay in our range of luxury glamping accommodation that includes:

• Three cute pods perfect for hen party glamping, with their own kitchens, bathrooms and BBQs. 

• Five bell tents for a more rustic hen night glamping experience, with fixed beds, cosy furnishings and access to shared eco-toilets and showers. 

• Space on our nine-acre field for extra tents and campervans.

Looking for hen do glamping with hot tubs? Then book our five-bed cottage, The Fern, which has a private garden with Tuff Spa or our quirky Tiny House Lodge, Bracken Heights, which has its own inflatable Lay-Z-Spa. 

Glamping Hen Do Activities

Looking for a way to spice up your glamping hen do? We offer a range of on-site activities including: 

Adventure activities: We work with Into the Forest, who offer on-site sessions in archery, axe-and-knife throwing, crossbow, and air-rifle shooting. You’ll receive training from qualified professionals and take part in fun games and competitions. For 2025, we’re offering one free activity per weekend party, choose from:

• Archery

• Axe throwing

• Air-rifle shooting

• Crossbow firing

Pampering packages: if you’re dreaming of a wellness-focused hen do, we work with a range of qualified local professionals who can provide onsite massage and beauty therapies as well as yoga and meditation sessions. Of course, if you book our cottage or lodge, you can also enjoy long soaks under the stars in your own private hot tub. 

Offsite activities: there are several local pubs and eateries within walking distance, including Indian eatery Ashiana and The Muskham Ferry pub. We’re also just a 15-minute drive from Newark which is packed with bars and restaurants. our site is conveniently located for off-site activities too, including: 

• Sherwood Forest: enjoy miles of hiking and cycling trails at the forest, visit the famous Major Oak tree or take on high-ropes courses and ziplines at Go Ape. 

• Skating: head to the National Ice Centre in Nottingham, where Torvill and Dean first trained, for a skating session. 

• Newark Showground: we’re just a few miles from the showground, so check out what exhibitions and events are on; The County Wedding Show is held there every November.  

• Nights out: head into nearby Leeds or Nottingham by taxi for a classic hen do night out, both cities are packed with restaurants and bars, as well as live music venues and theatres. 

• Watersports: if you fancy some kayaking, paddleboarding or white-water rafting, head to the nearby National Water Sports Centre at Pierrepont Country Park. 

• Historic sightseeing: explore the National Trust site Clumber Park or Belvoir Castle, both within 30 minutes’ drive of BrackenXcapes.  

Hen Night Glamping Facilities

When you book a hen do at BrackenXcapes, you’ll enjoy full access to our nine-acre glamping field, which features a woodland walk, young apple orchard, bee hives and communal fire pit perfect for toasting marshmallows under the stars. If you're staying in the bell tents then you'll also be able to use the gas-fired showers, outdoor camp kitchen and composting toilets. 

If you’re planning a larger celebration, we have a range of additional facilities to offer, including: 

• Marquees and pagodas 

• A dance floor and stage

• Decorations, furniture and outdoor lighting

• We can also hire in party extras, from food and drinks trucks to music equipment
